Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 31/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over far western Victoria. The tail end of a cold front passing south of Tasmania will clip southern Victoria early Thursday as it moves towards the Tasman Sea. The high will then move southeastwards to be located over Tasmania on Thursday night and the Tasman Sea by Friday night. A cold front will approach western Victoria later Saturday but will weaken as if crosses Victoria on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers or drizzle patches in the south mainly about the coast. Fine over the north.Thursday 1 SeptemberIsolated showers or drizzle patches in the south, contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon and evening. Fine and mostly sunny day over the north. Local early fog and frost then cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Friday 2 SeptemberFine apart from morning fog patches in the east. Local early frost then a cool to mild day with light winds tending moderate to fresh north to northeasterly across western and central districts. Local afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Saturday 3 SeptemberA mild and mostly sunny day with strengthening north to northwesterly winds.Sunday 4 SeptemberA band of patchy rain extending across the State. Mild, fresh to strong northerly winds shifting cooler westerly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
