Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will be over western Victoria today as a cold front approaches Tasmania. The tail end of the front will clip southern Victoria early on Thursday as it moves towards the Tasman Sea. The high will then move southeastwards to be located over Tasmania on Thursday night and the Tasman Sea by Friday night. A cold front will approach western Victoria later Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly sunny day in the north after morning frost, partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers about the coast extending inland to near ranges. Morning fog patches in the south and northeast. A cool to mild day with light to moderate southwesterly winds and local afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 1 SeptemberIsolated showers in the south, contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon and evening. Fine and mostly sunny day in the north. Local early frost then cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Friday 2 SeptemberDrizzle patches in Gippsland, clearing later. Fine elsewhere apart from early fog in the east. Early frost patches in the north and east then a cool to mild day with light winds tending moderate northeasterly.Saturday 3 SeptemberMild day with strengthening north to northwesterly winds.
