Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over northeast New South Wales is weakening, while a high over western Victoria strengthens a ridge across the region. This high will be the dominant feature during the next few days as it drifts slowly east, reaching the western Tasman Sea by Friday. Later on the weekend a cold front is expected to approach from the west, although its impact should be lessened by the strong ridge remaining across the state.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers along the central and northern coasts, mostly clearing during the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere, after early fog patches. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 1 SeptemberIsolated coastal showers. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 2 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered in the north and possibly extending to the northwest slopes. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 3 SeptemberIsolated showers about the central and northern coasts, tending scattered in the far north and extending to the adjacent ranges.
