Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is weakening as a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge to the east. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea by Thursday, strengthen and become slow-moving extending the ridge to the north coast. During Sunday a cold front is expected to move through the western and southeastern parts of the state.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast tending scattered about the coast and ranges but clearing from the slopes. Isolated showers on the central coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 31 AugustScattered showers and possible thunderstorms on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers on the central coast and on remainder of the north coast. Mostly sunny in the remainder. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 1 SeptemberIsolated coastal showers. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 2 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, possibly extending to the northwest slopes. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 3 SeptemberScattered showers on the far north coast tending isolated on the adjacent ranges. Isolated showers on the remainder of the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
