Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 29/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight is extending a ridge into western and southern New South Wales, promoting generally fine and stable conditions in these areas. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough situated over the state's northeast is creating unsettled weather, although the situation is expected to improve late today as the trough weakens. During Wednesday the dominant feature will be the strengthening high to the south, which will drift slowly east during the following few days, reaching the western Tasman Sea by Friday. The high will maintain a ridge across New South Wales throughout this time, with any precipitation limited to isolated coastal showers. There are early indications that the next frontal system may affect the region later on the weekend.
