Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over central Victoria will clear away to the east by the afternoon. The next high pressure system will then ridge across the Bight to be located over western Victoria by Tuesday night. The high will remain over Victoria on Wednesday as a cold front approaches Tasmania. The tail end of the front will clip southern Victoria on Thursday as it heads towards the Tasman Sea.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers in southern and mountain districts becoming isolated from the west during the morning then mostly clearing later. Showers falling as snow over the Alps. Only isolated showers possible over the northern plains and remaining dry over the far northwest. Cool with moderate to locally fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 30 AugustWidespread morning frost patches inland and local early morning fog. Partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers, mainly about the coast. Fine and mostly sunny over the north. Cool to mild with light wind inland and moderate west to southwest winds near the coast.Wednesday 31 AugustLocal morning fog and frost patches. Mostly sunny over the north. Partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers, mainly near the coast. Cool to mild with light to moderate westerly winds and local afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 1 SeptemberIsolated showers in the south, contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon and evening. Fine and mostly sunny over the north. Local early frost then cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDV10310
