Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over South Australia extend a ridge across Victoria over Saturday and Sunday. A cold front will approach southwest Victoria late Sunday, crossing the State Sunday night and during Monday morning. The next high pressure system will then ridge across the Bight to be located over southwest Victoria by Tuesday night.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from local morning fog and frost and isolated showers over the southwest. Mild and partly cloudy with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes in Gippsland.Sunday 28 AugustFine apart from isolated showers over the southwest, becoming scattered later in the day and extending to central areas at night. Mild with moderate northwest winds, freshening in the southwest. Afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 29 AugustScattered showers extending to most districts, although remaining dry over the far northwest. Snow on the ranges down to 1000 metres. Cool to cold with fresh and gusty southwesterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 30 AugustWidespread morning frost patches inland. Partly cloudy with isolated showers about the coast, fine over the remainder. Light wind inland and moderate southwest winds near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
