Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system at the head of the Bight will extend a ridge across Victoria today and over the weekend. A cold front will approach southwest Victoria late Sunday, crossing the State Sunday night and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayLocal morning fog and frost. Isolated showers near the coast and developing over the southwest during the afternoon but fine elsewhere. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with generally light west to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 27 AugustFine apart from local morning fog and frost and isolated showers over the southwest. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes in Gippsland.Sunday 28 AugustFine apart from isolated showers over the southwest, becoming scattered later in the day. Mild with moderate northwest winds, freshening in the southwest. Afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 29 AugustScattered showers extending to most districts, although remaining dry over the far northwest.
