Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad ridge of high pressure lies across New South Wales, while a weak cold front approaches from the west. This front will moves across western and southern districts later today before decaying during Friday. A low pressure trough is expected to develop over the northern inland of the state later Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers on the far north coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog patches, mostly on the slopes and ranges. Chiefly southeast to northeast winds along the coast, tending northwesterly over much of the inland. A late southwesterly change across in the south and west.Friday 26 AugustThe chance of showers in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 27 AugustScattered showers in the northeast and isolated showers the south south and central coasts and ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds in the northeast tending southwest to southeasterly elsewhere..Sunday 28 AugustScatted showers on the north coast and ranges, possibly extending to the northwest slopes. Isolated showers on the south and central coasts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDN10031
