Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to New South Wales north coast. On Friday a cold front will bring southerly change along the southern half of the coast and a low pressure trough is expected to develop over the northeast of the state during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly clear throughout. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh along the far north coast. Dangerous surf in the far north, easing.Thursday 25 AugustThe chance of morning showers on the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog and frost patches mostly on the slopes and ranges. Southeast to northeast winds tending north to northwest in the southwest ahead of a late southwesterly change.Friday 26 AugustThe chance of showers in the far northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 27 AugustScattered showers in the northeast and isolated showers the south south and central coasts and ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds in the northeast tending southwest to southeasterly elsewhere..Sunday 28 AugustScatted showers on the north coast and ranges possibly extending to the northwest slopes.
