Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly eastwards. A cold front will cross waters south of the Bight during Wednesday before moving eastwards to cross Victoria during Thursday. A high pressure system will be centred near Adelaide on Friday and Saturday, extending a ridge across Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning fog and frost patches, mainly in the east, then another mild and sunny day. Moderate northerly winds, lighter in the east with afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Thursday 25 AugustFine and sunny with freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change reaching the southwest during the morning then extending eastwards during the day reaching the far east at night. Scattered showers developing over southern and mountain districts following the change.Friday 26 AugustFine apart from isolated showers in the southwest and near the coast. Cool to mild with light winds.Saturday 27 AugustFine apart from isolated showers in the southwest and far east Gippsland.
