Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly eastwards. A cold front will reach the Bight during Wednesday before moving eastwards to cross Victoria during Thursday. A high pressure system will be centred near Adelaide on Friday and Saturday, extending a ridge across Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayClear. Light to moderate northerly winds with seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 24 AugustFine after morning fog and frost patches, mainly in the east. A mild and mostly sunny day with mainly moderate northerly winds, lighter in the east with afternoon seabreezes.Thursday 25 AugustIsolated showers developing over the southwest, extending eastwards over southern and mountain districts during afternoon and evening. Fine over the north. Mild with freshening northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change developing from the west.Friday 26 AugustFine apart from isolated showers in the southwest and near the coast. Cool to mild with light winds.Saturday 27 AugustFine apart from isolated showers in the southwest and far east Gippsland.
