Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 21/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a low pressure system lies over the northern Tasman Sea. By Tuesday the low will move further northwards and weaken into a trough. A cold front is expected to move across the state on Thursday as the high moves towards New Zealand.
Forecast for the rest of SundayShowers on the north an central coasts coast and adjacent ranges tending widespread and possibly heavy at times in the north, but clearing from the south. Isolated showers on the Northwest Slopes and Plains. Mostly clear elsewhere. East to southeast winds, fresh near the coast in the north. Dangerous surf developing later in the far northMonday 22 AugustShowers on the north and central coasts and on the adjacent ranges tending scattered to widespread in the north and isolated in the south. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeast winds. Dangerous surf in the far north.Tuesday 23 AugustIsolated showers about the northern half of the coasts and adjacent ranges, tending scattered to widespread in the far north and possibly extending to the western slopes. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 24 AugustIsolated showers about the north coast and on adjacent ranges tending scattered on the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 25 AugustIsolated showers about the north coast and on adjacent ranges tending scattered on the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
