Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a low pressure system lies over the northern Tasman Sea. The low will move further northwards and weaken into a trough. A strong pressure gradient is between these two systems. A cold front is expected to move across the state on Thursday as the high moves towards New Zealand.
Forecast for the rest of SundayShowers on the coast coast and adjacent ranges tending widespread and heavy at times in the north, but clearing from the south. Isolated thunderstorms about the northern coast and possibly developing over the northern parts of the North West Slopes and Plains in the afternoon. Mostly sunny elsewhere. East to southeast winds, fresh near the coast in the north. Dangerous surf developing later in the far northMonday 22 AugustShowers on the north and central coasts and on the adjacent ranges tending scattered to widespread in the north and isolated in the south. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.
