Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a complex low pressure system lies over the northern Tasman Sea. The low will move slowly to the north-northeast during Sunday and Monday and weaken. A cold front is expected to move across the state on Thursday as the high moves towards New Zealand.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers near the coast and on adjacent ranges tending widespread in the north and possibly heavy at times. Mostly clear elsewhere. East to southeast winds, fresh and gusty about the ranges and along the central and northern coastal fringe.Sunday 21 AugustScattered showers coast and adjacent ranges tending widespread in the north and possibly heavy at times, but clearing from the south. The chance of showers on the western slopes of the northern ranges. Mostly clear elsewhere. East to southeast winds, fresh near the coast in the north.Monday 22 AugustIsolated showers on the north and central coasts and on the adjacent ranges tending scattered to widespread in the north. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 23 AugustIsolated showers about the central and north coasts and ranges, tending scattered to widespread in the far north. The chance of showers on the western slopes of the northern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 24 AugustIsolated showers about the north coast and on adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
