Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 18/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure ridge extends across northern New South Wales, while a low moves from Victoria into the state's south. This low will move to central parts early Friday before weakening. Meanwhile, a second low is expected to develop over the western Tasman Sea in response to an upper level system. In combination with a high strengthening to the south, this pattern is forecast to direct a southeasterly airstream across New South Wales during the weekend, leading showers or rain areas for some coastal districts, possibly heavy at times. The low is forecast to move slowly north later on the weekend, allowing the next ridge to become the dominant feature by Monday.
