MELBOURNE - Aug 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
For the rest of today and Wednesday: WARNING SUMMARY: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is current. Gale Warning for the Far West, West, South Central and South East Coasts and a Strong Wind Warning for Gulf Waters. Sheep Graziers Advice for Wednesday. SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Areas of rain, extending across most of the state today, patchy in the north, clearing from the west later today and throughout early Wednesday. Isolated showers following the rain, becoming scattered about coasts today and about the agricultural area and the south of the pastoral districts on Wednesday. Showers more frequent at times about the Flinders Ranges, west coast of Eyre Peninsula and the Lower South East on Wednesday. Isolated thunderstorms developing west of about Coober Pedy to Adelaide this afternoon and evening, extending to remaining areas south of Ceduna to Leigh Creek on Wednesday, with small hail possible, and clearing from the west during the day. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, strong in the south and west, ahead of a fresh to strong west to southwesterly change in the far west, extending to near Leigh Creek to Kingscote this evening and Broken Hill to Robe early Wednesday. Winds possibly reaching gale force at times about western and southern coasts.
