Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 13/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred to the southwest of Tasmania extends a ridge across eastern New South Wales, while a weak trough approaches the state's west. During Sunday the high will move to the southern Tasman Sea, where it is expected to strengthen and become very slow-moving, maintaining a ridge along the New South Wales coast until mid-week. The second half of the week is likely to see a cold front traverse the state as the high begins to weaken and move away from the region.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of showers along the northern and central coasts. Isolated showers developing in the far southwest, chiefly afternoon. Fine elsewhere, with high cloud increasing through the day. Morning fog areas, chiefly inland. South to southeasterly winds along the coast and light variable winds inland.Sunday 14 AugustIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, chiefly in the afternoon and possibly extending to the western slopes. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning fog areas over the inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Monday 15 AugustIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges and isolated showers developing over the southern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Mostly light and variable winds.Tuesday 16 AugustIsolated showers along the northern coast and isolated showers over the southern and central inland. Fine elsewhere.
