Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge across to Victoria. The high will move slowly eastwards to be southwest of Tasmania by Sunday with the ridge also moving eastwards across the State. An upper level trough will move through Victoria during the weekend. A cold front will then cross the Bight before entering southwestern Victoria during Monday and slipping southwards later. Another cold front will approach western Victoria later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Light winds,Saturday 13 AugustAreas of morning fog and frost. A generally fine and cool day, although cloud increasing in the west with the chance of isolated showers developing over the northwest. Light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 14 AugustMorning fog patches in Gippsland. A generally fine day, although the chance of isolated showers, mainly about the northeast ranges and southwest during the afternoon. Cool to mild with light northerly winds and local afternoon seabreezes.Monday 15 AugustRain areas developing in the west during the morning before extending eastwards to affect most districts but mostly fine in East Gippsland. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northeast winds, freshening in the southwest.Tuesday 16 AugustRain areas, mainly in north and west.
