Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a trough to northeastern New South Wales. The trough will weaken during today as the low moves slowly towards to the east northeast. By Saturday a high pressure system will move south of Tasmania extending a ridge to the state north coast. The high is expected to move over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Sunday and then to become semi-stationary there until Tuesday maintaining the ridge to the north coast.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the east, falling as snow on the higher Alps. Showers tending to rain about the far southern coast and adjacent ranges. West to southwest winds becoming fresh to strong in the southeast.Friday 12 AugustIsolated showers along the coast and the adjacent ranges, tending scattered on the central coast. Morning fog areas inland and frosts about the ranges and slopes. Fine remainder. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh along the coast.Saturday 13 AugustIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and the chance of showers in the far west. Fine elsewhere. Morning fog areas inland. South to southeasterly winds along the coast and light variable winds inland.Sunday 14 AugustIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, possibly extending to the western slopes. Morning fog areas over the inland. Southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDN10031
