Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure system over waters southeast of the state is expected to move slowly east-northeast Thursday before moving away towards New Zealand during Friday. An upper trough with associated showers will contract to the east on Thursday. Southwest to southeast winds are expected to increase along the coast on Thursday, particularly in the south where scattered showers or rain periods are also possible. A high pressure ridge will move over western NSW Friday then continue over eastern Australia through the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated light showers over the western half of the state contracting to the northeast and the southern border. Isolated snow showers on the Alps increasing overnight.. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds.Thursday 11 AugustMorning fog areas over the inland with frosts about the ranges and slopes.Isolated showers in the east, falling as snow on the higher Alps. Showers tending to rain about the far southern coast and adjacent ranges. West to southwest winds becoming fresh to strong in the southeast.Friday 12 AugustMorning fog areas over the inland, with frosts about the ranges and slopes. Isolated showers along the coast and the adjacent eastern ranges, tending scattered along parts of the coastal fringe. Fine remainder. Light and variable winds over the inland. Southerly winds over the coastal districts, fresh along the coast.Saturday 13 AugustWidespread fog over the inland with frosts on the ranges and slopes. Isolated showers along the northern half of the coast and the chance of a few showers developing over the far western inland. Fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds along the coast. East to northeast winds inland.Sunday 14 AugustFog areas over the inland. Showers along the coast and ranges, possibly extending to the adjacent slopes.
