Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An upper level trough will cross NSW today with showers developing west of the ranges and extending to the northeast later. A complex low pressure system over waters southeast of the state is expected to move slowly east-northeast Thursday before moving away towards New Zealand during Friday. Winds are expected to strengthen along the coast Thursday with shower activity also increasing. A high pressure ridge will move over western NSW Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers over the western half of the state. Isolated showers about the western slopes of the ranges and developing about much of the northeast and in the far south coast later. Isolated snow showers on the Alps. Early frost about the ranges and isolated early fog patches. Fine elsewhere. Chiefly light to moderate west to southwest winds.Thursday 11 AugustIsolated showers in the east, falling as snow on the higher Alps. Showers becoming scattered about the southern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon showers over the northern and central inland. Southwest to southeast winds becoming fresh to strong along southern and central parts of the coast.Friday 12 AugustIsolated showers along the coast and the adjacent eastern ranges, tending scattered along parts of the coastal fringe. Fine to the west. Light and variable winds in the western inland, southerly winds elsewhere, fresh to strong along the coast.Saturday 13 AugustIsolated showers along most of the coast, and the chance of showers over the far western inland. Fine elsewhere. Mostly southeast to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
