Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will linger over the Tasman Sea during the next few days, with a series of cold fronts weakening as they cross southwestern Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy rain in the east, tending to isolated showers and contracting to the northeast during the day, then clearing later. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Morning fog patches in the northwest. Isolated showers possible near the southwest coast during the afternoon. A generally mild and partly cloudy day with light to moderate northerly winds.Monday 1 AugustIsolated showers extending from the southwest, although remaining dry in the far northwest and East Gippsland. Generally mild with moderate to locally fresh northwest to northerly winds.Tuesday 2 AugustIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, clearing in East Gippsland and becoming more widespread in the southwest. Mild with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 3 AugustIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, although remaining fine in East Gippsland. A mild and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
