Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the NSW coast will drift eastwards to be located over the Tasman Sea during Friday and Saturday before heading towards New Zealand on Sunday. A cold front will approach western Victoria later on Friday, weakening as it moves across Tasmania on Saturday. The next front will cross waters south of the Bight Sunday night and will reach southwest Victoria late Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine tonight.Friday 29 JulyLocal early morning fog and frost in the east otherwise a fine and generally mild day. Cloud increasing from the west later with patchy rain developing at night in the west.Saturday 30 JulyPatchy rain spreading to most districts, but clearing later in the northwest. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the far west late afternoon. Generally mild day with moderate northerly winds shifting northwest to westerly later in the west. Snowfalls possible on the higher Alpine peaks.Sunday 31 JulyPatchy rain over the northeast at first clearing. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the southwest but fine over remaining districts. Generally mild with moderate to locally fresh northwest to northerly winds.Monday 1 AugustIsolated showers mainly about the northeast ranges and over the southwest.
