MELBOURNE - Jul 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure will move slowly eastwards across eastern Victoria tonight. The next high pressure system will approach Victoria from the west during Tuesday. The high will move across the State during Wednesday, moving just off the New South Wales coast on Thursday and into the Tasman Sea on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers mainly in southern and mountain districts. Mostly fine in East Gippsland with just the chance of isolated showers. Snow above 1300 metres. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Tuesday 26 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, more widespread over Gippsland and contracting eastwards. Snow falls above 1200 metres. Isolated showers penetrating just north of the dividing range, but otherwise fine over the northern plains. A cool and partly cloudy day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the southeast.Wednesday 27 JulyLocal morning fog and frost, then a fine and mostly sunny day. Cool to mild with generally light wind.Thursday 28 JulyLocal morning fog and frost patches in the east. A fine, cool to mild day with patchy high cloud in the west. Moderate to locally fresh northerly winds.Friday 29 JulyPatchy rain developing later in the west. Fine over the remainder with moderate northerly winds.
