MELBOURNE - Jul 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over western Victoria will move slowly eastwards across Victoria overnight and during Monday. The next high pressure system will approach Victoria from the west during Tuesday. The high will move across the State during Wednesday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers tending to rain at times across the north and along the ranges, falling as snow above 1300 metres. Isolated thunderstorms about the northwest clearing this evening.Monday 25 JulyRain areas about the northeast easing to scattered showers during the morning and falling as snow above 1300 metres. Isolated showers elsewhere. A cool and mainly cloudy day with light winds, tending moderate to fresh west to southwesterly.Tuesday 26 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, more widespread over Gippsland. Snow falls above 1200 metres. Isolated showers penetrating just north of the dividing range, but otherwise fine over the northern plains. A cool and partly cloudy day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the southeast.Wednesday 27 JulyLocal morning fog and frost, then a fine and mostly sunny day. Cool to mild with generally light wind.Thursday 28 JulyLocal morning fog and frost patches in the east. A cool to mild day with patchy high cloud and the chance of a little rain over the southwest.
