MELBOURNE - Jul 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough has recently entered the far southwest of the state with associated low approaching Tasmania from the west. A broad high pressure ridge dominates northern parts of New South Wales. The trough is forecast to move across southern districts during Sunday and Monday before contracting to the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A high is expected to gradually approach from the west to be centred over the state on Wednesday and Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the southern inland tending scattered near Victorian border with isolated thunderstorms. The chance of isolated showers over the remaining southeastern and central districts. Possible isolated late showers along the northern coast. Snow showers on the Alps. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds, tending light and variable in the east.Monday 25 JulyMorning frost and patchy fog, mostly about the ranges and western slopes in the north. Isolated showers over the central and southern parts, more likely in the southern inland. Fine elsewhere. Mainly northwest to southwest winds. Dangerous surf conditions developing later in the north.Tuesday 26 July Morning frost about the ranges and western slopes. Early fog areas, mostly in the west. Isolated showers in the south, more likely about the southwest slopes. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds. Dangerous surf conditions easing in the north.
