Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 21/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system south of Tasmania extends a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a complex low pressure system with a few small centres lies over the central Tasman Sea. This pattern is expected to persist for several days. As the low moves gradually across the Tasman over the weekend its influence on the weather will diminish.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers on the coast and on the adjacent ranges, more frequent and heavier on the coastal fringe. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers on the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny in the far west. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong and gusty near the coast. Dangerous surf conditions.Friday 22 JulyScattered showers on the coast and on the adjacent ranges, more frequent and heavier in central parts. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh near the coast. Dangerous surf conditions.Saturday 23 JulyIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered on the central parts of the coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast winds, fresh along the coast.Sunday 24 JulyIsolated coastal showers tending scattered on the central coast and the chance of some patchy rain in the southwest.
