MELBOURNE - Jul 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving high pressure system south of Tasmania extends a ridge to northwestern New South Wales and a complex low pressure system with a few small centers lies over the central Tasman Sea. Later on Friday the low is expected to move away from the coast while the ridge strengthen across the state. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers coast and adjacent ranges apart from the far north, more frequent and heavier on the coastal fringe. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Snow showers on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds squally near the coast. Dangerous surf conditions developing.Thursday 21 JulyScattered showers on the coast and on the adjacent ranges, more frequent and heavier on the coastal fringe. Isolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, gusty near the coast.
