MELBOURNE - Jul 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow moving broad low has formed off New South Wales coast. This low is likely to deepen further on Wednesday and appears likely to remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea through to the end of the business week, with windy and showery conditions persisting across most of coastal areas. The low is likely to move east across Tasman Sea during the weekend with conditions easing along the coast. A slow moving high pressure ridge will maintain dry conditions in the west. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers along most the coast apart from the far north tending widespread along the coastal fringe and heavy at times. Isolated showers about most of the ranges and possibly adjacent western slopes in the south. Isolated snow showers on the Alps. Morning frost inland in the north. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, strong along much of the coast, possibly reaching gale force about exposed central parts and over Mid North Coast ranges. Dangerous surf conditions later.Thursday 21 JulyScattered showers along southern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges tending widespread along the coastal fringe and heavy at times. Isolated showers about the western slopes of the ranges. Isolated snow showers on the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, strong and gusty along much of the coast. Dangerous surf conditions.Friday 22 JulyScattered showers about southern and central parts of the coast. Isolated showers about the southern and central ranges and along the north coast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh to strong along the coast. Dangerous surf conditions.Saturday 23 JulyScattered showers coast and adjacent ranges. Fine remainder.
