Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving trough has formed off New South Wales coast with significantly cooler air in the upper atmosphere affecting the southeastern and central parts. This upper level feature is then expected to assist in the development of a low over the western Tasman Sea during Tuesday, while a high to the south of Tasmania strengthens and maintains a ridge into western New South Wales. This low is likely to deepen further on Wednesday and appears likely to remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea through to the end of the week, with windy conditions developing across some coastal areas.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the southeast, and developing about central parts. Showers tending scattered and possibly heavy at times along southern and central parts of the coast later. Snow showers on the Alps and also about higher parts of the central and northern ranges. Morning fog patches, particularly for the southern inland. Early frost areas about the ranges. Generally fine in the far west though cloudy areas. Fine and mostly sunny in the far northeast. South to southwesterly winds, freshening along much of the coast.Wednesday 20 JulyScattered showers along southern and central parts of the coast tending widespread along the coastal fringe and heavy at times. Isolated showers about the southern and central ranges and possibly adjacent western slopes. Isolated snow showers on the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, becoming strong along much of the coast, possibly reaching gale force about exposed central parts. Dangerous surf conditions later.Thursday 21 JulyScattered showers along southern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges tending widespread along the coastal fringe and heavy at times. Isolated showers about the western slopes of the ranges. Isolated snow showers on the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, strong and gusty along much of the coast. Dangerous surf conditions.Friday 22 JulyScattered showers about southern and central parts of the coast. Isolated showers about the southern and central ranges and along the north coast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh to strong along the coast.
