MELBOURNE - Jul 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front which moved across western parts of New South Wales overnight is continuing to the east today, while an associated low pressure system passes over Bass Strait. The main effects of this system will be felt across the south of the state, with the approach of significantly cooler air in the upper atmosphere. This upper level feature is then expected to assist in the development of a second low over the western Tasman Sea during Tuesday, while a high to the south of Tasmania strengthens and maintains a ridge into western New South Wales. This low is likely to deepen further on Wednesday and appears likely to remain almost stationary over the Tasman Sea through to the end of the week, with windy conditions developing across some coastal areas.
