MELBOURNE - Jul 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move across western New South Wales overnight and through the southeast during Monday. As the front moves offshore a low pressure system will develop over the western Tasman Sea on Tuesday and a high pressure system will move southeast of the Bight extending a ridge across the west of the state. The low will deepen during Wednesday and Thursday and it is expected to move rapidly east on Friday and weaken. Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy rain developing in the southwest. Isolated shower in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.Monday 18 JulyMostly sunny in the west. Patchy rain elsewhere, tending to rain areas on the western slopes of the southern ranges but clearing from the northern and central parts. Snow showers developing on the Alps. Northwest to southwest winds.Tuesday 19 JulyIsolated showers in the southeast with snow showers on the Alps. Early frost and fog areas.. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwesterly winds freshening on the south and central coasts.Wednesday 20 JulyIsolated showers on the south and central coasts and ranges, possibly extending to the western slopes, tending scattered on the coastal fringe. Snow showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Thursday 21 JulyIsolated showers on the south and central coasts and ranges and possibly on the western slopes in the morning, tending widespread on the coastal fringe.
