MELBOURNE - Jul 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea is slowly moving towards New Zealand maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A trough over the northeast of the state is weakening as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will move across the state during tomorrow night and Monday. As the front moves offshore a low pressure system is expected to develop over the western Tasman Sea during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPartly cloudy in the far west and across the southeastern inland. Areas of rain in the northeast, easing later. Isolated showers elsewhere, scattered at times along the central coastal fringe. Southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 17 JulyPartly cloudy in the far northwest. The chance of showers on the south and central coasts. Patchy rain developing elsewhere and tending to rain areas about the southern inland. Early frost areas, mostly in the southeast. Northwest to northeast winds, turning southwesterly in the west later.Monday 18 JulyPartly cloudy in the west. Patchy rain elsewhere, tending to rain areas in the southeastern inland. Northwest to southwest winds.Tuesday 19 JulyIsolated showers on the coast and ranges, tending scattered on the south and central coasts.
