Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 15/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over eastern Bass Strait is slowly moving towards New Zealand, while maintaining a ridge along the New South Wales coast. A weak trough lies across the northwest of the state. Another low pressure trough, associated with the approach of some colder air in the upper atmosphere, is expected to develop over the western districts during Sunday before moving to the coast early in the new week. As this system moves offshore a low is likely to deepen over the Tasman Sea, resulting in an increasing southerly airstream along the coast by mid-week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMorning fog and mist patches in the east. Areas of rain across much of the north, particularly over the northwest inland. Generally fine in the southeast, and along the western border. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered at times along the central coast fringe. Mostly southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 17 JulyIsolated showers in most districts, tending scattered at times along the north coast. Rain areas developing in the southwest late in the day. Early frost areas, mostly in the southeast. Northwest to northeast winds, turning southwesterly in the west later.Monday 18 JulyFine in the northwest.
