MELBOURNE - Jul 14/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will move eastwards across Bass Strait today and will be located just east of Tasmania during the weekend. A cold front will approach Victoria from the west later on Sunday but will weaken as it crosses Victoria on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers near the coast clearing this morning. Fine inland after widespread early frost and morning fog patches. Partly cloudy in the south, but sunny north of the divide. A cool day with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds.Saturday 16 JulyA fine and mostly sunny day after morning fog and frost patches. Cloud increasing in the north with isolated showers developing in the far northwest at night. A cool day with light to moderate northeasterly winds.Sunday 17 JulyPatchy rain extending from the northwest to affect remaining western and central areas. Isolated showers developing over the northeast but fine in East Gippsland. A cool and mostly cloudy day with a freshening northerly wind.Monday 18 JulyPatchy rain contracting eastwards with isolated showers to follow.
