MELBOURNE - Jul 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous southwesterly airstream over Tasmania and the southern Tasman Sea is affecting the southeast of the state. A front within this stream will pass through the area later today and overnight. A high over the SA/NSW border region extends a ridge towards Queensland. This high will move slowly east. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAn isolated shower or two on the western slopes of the far southern ranges falling as snow on the Alps. A little patchy rain developing in the far west late in the evening. Northwest to southwest winds, fresh about the central and southern ranges, tending light and variable in the west. Dangerous surf conditions along the central and northern coasts.Wednesday 13 JulyPossible showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges . Patchy rain in the northwest. Fine elsewhere. Early frost and fog, chiefly in the northwestern inland. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh and gusty at times in the southeast.Thursday 14 JulyPatchy rain in the west. Isolated showers along the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy remainder. East to southeasterly winds.Friday 15 JulyPatchy rain along the northern border regions. Isolated showers along most of the coast. Southeast to easterly winds.Saturday 16 JulyIsolated showers or rain areas over of much of the state, most likely over the northern inland and along the central and northern coasts.
