MELBOURNE - Jul 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous west to southwesterly airstream persists over Bass Strait while the next high pressure system is still south of Perth. The high pressure system will move slowly eastwards across the Bight towards Adelaide on Monday while another cold front is likely to cross Tasmania on Tuesday. During Wednesday the high pressure system should be south of Adelaide before moving over Victoria on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, scattered at first in the southeast then tending to contract to the ranges and coast during the afternoon. Dry over the northern plains. Snowfalls down to 900 metres at first retreating above 1200 metres in the afternoon. Cold with fresh and gusty southwest winds, strong at first in the southeast.Tuesday 12 JulyIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, mainly near the coast and northeast ranges. The chance of showers inland during the afternoon. Cool with moderate westerly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Wednesday 13 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts. Fine on the northern plains after morning frost patches. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds easing in the west.Thursday 14 JulyIsolated showers near the coast. The chance of isolated showers over the far northwest. Early frost patches.
