MELBOURNE - Jul 5/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system southeast of Tasmania with an associated trough to the north are slowly moving east and a strong slow-moving high pressure system southwest of the Bight extends a ridge to northeastern New South Wales. During the forecast period a series of cold fronts will move through the southeast of state maintaining windy conditions there while the ridge strengthens over the west and northeast. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on western slopes1 of southern and central the ranges, tending scattered in the far south. Snow showers above about 900 metres. Mostly clear elsewhere. Fresh to strong westerly winds reaching gale force in the southeast.Wednesday 6 JulyIsolated showers in the southern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Snow above about 1200 metres. Mostly sunny remainder. Fresh to strong westerly winds, squally about the southern and central ranges.Thursday 7 JulyIsolated showers about the western slopes of the southern with snow showers above about 800 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty in the east.Friday 8 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow above about 1200 metres.
