weaken. A trough is moving through South Australia, and is expected to reach
southwest Queensland late Sunday.

state but no rain. Moderate to fresh S to SE winds along the east coast, tending
light to moderate SE to NE over the interior.

tropical coast in the morning. Cloudy in the west, with little to no rain in the
far southwest. Early frost areas about the southeast interior. Light to moderate
SE to E winds along the east coast, fresh in the far north. Light to moderate SE
to NE winds over the interior, before a late SW change in the far west.

The trough is expected to move across southern Queensland with cloud
contracting to the far southern interior and clearing late in the day. Little or
no rain is expected with this cloud near the border. Early morning frost areas
over the southeast interior. Isolated showers along the tropical east coast in
the onshore flow. Fine elsewhere. A new ridge expected to extend over western
Queensland in the wake of the trough with drier W to SW winds.

A large high southwest of Perth is expected to extend a ridge across central
Queensland with dry and cooler W to SW winds developing across southern
Queensland. The trough clears the southeast district early and moves north along
the coast into central Queensland during the day. Isolated showers contracting
to the north tropical coast, dry over the remainder of the state. Early frost
about the Granite Belt region.
Forecast for Wednesday
The high will remain slow moving southwest of Perth, extending a ridge into
southern and central Queensland with dry and cool W to SW winds in the southern
half. Isolated showers along the far northern coast, fine elsewhere. Early
morning frost about the southern and southeast interior. Strong winds expected
in the southern Gulf and about the southeast coastal waters.
Outlook for Thursday, Friday and Saturday
The large high southwest of Perth is expected to remain slow moving and
extend a ridge across southern and central Queensland with cool and dry S to SW
winds over most of the state, fresh and gusty at times over the
southeast and northwest. Fresh SE winds are expected to develop over tropical
waters. Only isolated showers are expected along the northeast tropical coast in
the onshore SE airflow north of the ridge axis. Early morning frost areas are
expected to return to the southeast, southern and central interior.
