MELBOURNE - Jul 1/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will move through of the state during Monday and Tuesday. Behind the front a strong high pressure system will move southwest of the Bight extending a ridge to the northeast. The high is expected to move slowly east on Wednesday and Thursday strengthening the ridge across the state. . Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on the north and central coasts and on the adjacent east ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost and fog patches about the southern and central ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 2 JulyIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast contracting further north. Mostly sunny elsewhere. North to northwest winds tending south to southeast on the north coast.Sunday 3 JulyLight rain developing in the west and southeast and tending scattered near Victorian border. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwest winds.Monday 4 JulyMostly sunny in the far west and partly cloudy near the coast. Patchy rain elsewhere tending more widespread on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the higher Alps. West to northwest winds, fresh and gusty in the west and southeast.Tuesday 5 JulyIsolated showers in the southeastern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
