Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 22/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system just east of Tasmania will move away to the east today. A high pressure system over South Australia will drift slowly eastwards during the forecast period, remaining to the north of Victoria. A cold front will cross waters south of the Bight on Saturday but will weaken as it slides southeastwards across Victoria on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers, mainly in southern and mountain areas and more widespread near the coast. Snowfalls above 1600 metres. Cool and mostly cloudy with a moderate to fresh westerly wind.Friday 24 JuneIsolated showers or drizzle patches mainly about the ranges and along the coast. Cool to mild with a light to moderate westerly wind, tending northwesterly in the west.Saturday 25 JuneEarly frost in the northeast and local early morning fogs. Mainly sunny in the south, but partly cloudy in the north with isolated showers possible about the northeast ranges. A cool to mild day. Light winds in the east, but moderate to locally fresh northerly winds developing elsewhere.Sunday 26 JuneIsolated showers extending from the west but only affecting southern and mountain districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest winds shifting west to southwesterly near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
