Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure system over the northeastern Tasman Sea is moving to the east-southeast away from the New South Wales coast. During Friday a cold front will move across the southeast of the state and a high pressure ridge will develop over the west and northeast. The ridge is expected to persist in the west and northeast over the forecast period and further cold fronts are expected to move through the southeast.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayClearing showers on the north and central coasts and on adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh to strong about parts of the coast. Dangerous surf conditions on parts of the coast.Friday 17 JuneIsolated showers about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1400 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Fresh and gusty west to southwest winds extending throughout, cooler in the south.Saturday 18 JuneIsolated showers about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Early fog and frost patches inland. Partly cloudy remainder. Light to moderate southwest winds.Sunday 19 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds.Monday 20 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
