Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 14/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system to the southwest of Victoria will start to drift steadily eastwards, moving just east of Tasmania on Wednesday and into the central Tasman Sea on Thursday. A cold front will cross Victoria during Friday. A high pressure system ridge will develop over central parts of Australia during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers over East Gippsland and isolated showers about the coast. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 15 JuneIsolated showers in the southeast but dry elsewhere. Morning fog and frost patches then a cool to mild day with mainly light winds tending northeasterly in the west.Thursday 16 JuneFine apart from isolated showers in the far east and morning fog patches. Early frost patches then a cool to mild day with mainly light winds tending moderate northwesterly in the west.Friday 17 JuneScattered showers developing in southern and mountain areas, isolated over the northern plains. Snow showers above 1200 metres. A freshening northwesterly wind shifting cooler gusty west to southwesterly from the west.Saturday 18 JuneIsolated showers, mainly in the southwest and over the northeast ranges. Snow over the Alps. A cool and partly cloudy day with a moderate to fresh west to northwesterly wind, strong at times near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
