Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly eastwards and will weaken during Friday. A strong high pressure system south of the Bight is virtually stationary and is not expected to move significantly during next few days.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain in East Gippsland with locally heavy falls. Isolated showers in remaining southern and mountain areas. Snow showers above 1200 metres. Fresh to strong southerly wind easing in the west.Friday 10 JuneRain with locally heavy falls in East Gippsland easing to scattered showers during the morning. Isolated showers over remaining southern areas. Snow on the Alps. Fine and mainly sunny north of the divide after widespread morning frost. Remaining cool to cold with moderate southerly winds, fresh at times along the coast.Saturday 11 JuneIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, mostly contracting to Gippsland and coastal areas during the day. Isolated snow showers over the Alps contracting southwards. Fine and sunny over the northern inland after early frost. Remaining cool to cold with moderate south to southeast winds.Sunday 12 JuneIsolated showers in southern areas. Early inland frost over the north. A cool day with a moderate southerly wind.Monday 13 JuneMostly fine in the south with the chance of isolated showers. Fine in the north. A cool to mild day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Friday.Product IDV10310
