southern districts. Early frost over a large area across the southern interior
followed by a cold day. Showers persisting over the NE tropics as the coastal
trough moves into the southern tropics.

winds continue across southern Queensland. Extensive early frost over the
southern interior. Rain areas in the northwest, extending into the southern
tropics and central areas during the day and becoming heavy at times. Showers
generally over the NE tropics.
Forecast for Saturday
The high remains slow moving in the Great Australian Bight, while a trough
will deepen off the Queensland coast with a low expected to develop off the
Capricornia coast. Rain areas in the eastern half of the state, especially about
the central and southeast areas and heavy at times. Isolated showers and patchy
rain in the west but clearing in the west. Strong winds are expected to develop
off the Central and Capricornia coasts.
Outlook for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday
Rain areas contracting to the southeast during Sunday and Monday while
beginning to clear in the north. Strong to gale force winds expected off the
southern coast as the low moves southwards off the Queensland coast. Showers in
the west of the state.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
Wednesday.
