Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure ridge lies over northern New South Wales. Very dry cold air is following a front that passed through the state yesterday. A second cold front and upper cold pool will move through most of the state later today and Wednesday, particularly affecting southern parts, with snow to quite low levels and possible thunder or small hail. A high in the Bight will follow the front, while a low will develop over the southern Tasman Sea from Tuesday through to Friday. Over the weekend indications are that a trough will develop along the coast with a low likely off the far north coast Sunday/Monday. This has the potential to lead to significant rain in the far northeast of the state.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayWidespread early frost areas, mainly in the east. Possible light showers over the southern and central inland parts, most likely about the western slopes of the southern ranges later in the day and falling as snow down to about 1000 metres, and lowering further overnight. Fine elsewhere. West to northwest winds, strengthening in the southeast and turning colder southwesterly in the far south late.Wednesday 8 JuneWidespread early frost in the east. Cold west to southwest winds, strong and gusty in the east.Thursday 9 JuneWidespread early frosts in the east.
