Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak cold front will cross eastern Victoria on Friday night. A stronger cold front will cross waters south of the Bight late Saturday, reaching southwest Victoria Sunday afternoon and pushing through the east of the State early on Monday. Another cold front is expected to move northeastwards from the Southern Ocean to reach Victoria late on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMostly cloudy with isolated showers. Moderate northwest to westerly winds.Saturday 4 JuneIsolated showers, mostly on and south of the ranges, contracting to the coast by the evening. Snow showers above 1400 metres. Cool and partly cloudy with moderate westerly wind, fresh about the coast and tending northwesterly later.Sunday 5 JuneMainly fine at first with cool north to northwesterly wind strengthening over southern and elevated areas. A band of rain reaching the southwest by the afternoon and extending eastwards across the State later in the day and evening along with a colder gusty west to southwesterly change. Snow falls developing above 1400 metres, mainly late in the day.Monday 6 JuneEarly rain in the east then scattered showers to follow in southern and mountain areas. The showers becoming isolated in the afternoon and clearing in the north. Snowfalls lowering to 900 metres in the morning but lifting back above 1200 metres in the afternoon. Generally cold with moderate to fresh west to southwest wind, easing in the afternoon.Tuesday 7 JuneIsolated showers about the coast at first. Showers becoming more extensive from the southwest during the afternoon and also extending to northern areas. Snowfalls developing later on the ranges above 900 metres and the chance of late thunderstorms in the southwest. Cool to cold with north to northwest wind strengthening then turning cold southerly from the west late in the afternoon and at night.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
