MELBOURNE - Jun 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening as a cold front enters the far southwest. This front is expected to affect southern and central parts of New South Wales over the weekend, followed by another cold front early next week. A weak high pressure ridge will linger in the far north. Forecast for the rest of FridayA little light patchy rain developing along the inland Victorian border. Mostly clear remainder. Southeast to southwest winds in the northeast. North to northwest winds elsewhere. Dangerous surf conditions south of Smoky Cape.Saturday 4 June Isolated showers over the southern half, mostly about the southwest slopes of the ranges with the chance of thunderstorms over the far southern ranges. Isolated snow showers developing about the Alpine peaks. Cloud increasing in the north. Early fog and frost patches, mostly in the north. West to northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change in the south and west. Dangerous surf conditions south of Smoky Cape. Sunday 5 JunePossible isolated showers through central and southwestern inland parts, more likely on the southwestern slopes. Chance early showers clearing on the central and southern coast. Possible snow showers about the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds freshening about the southern and central ranges.Monday 6 JuneIsolated showers over the southern and central parts, more likely over the southwestern slopes and falling as snow on the southern ranges. Frost areas on the ranges and slopes. Partly cloudy elsewhere West to southwest winds, strong and gusty about the ranges.Tuesday 7 JunePossible showers over the southern parts, falling as snow on the Alps. Early frost areas.
