MELBOURNE - Jun 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low over the northern Tasman Sea is moving southwards, while a high over New Zealand extends a weakening ridge towards the far northwest of he state. A deep low well south of the Bight extends a front towards SA. This front is expected to affect southern and central parts of New South Wales over the weekend, followed by another cold front early next week. A weak high pressure ridge will linger in the far north. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated clearing showers along the central coastal fringe. A little light patchy rain developing along the inland Victorian border. Early fog areas and frost patches about the ranges and slopes. Partly cloudy remainder. Southeast to southwest winds in the northeast. North to northwest winds elsewhere. Dangerous surf conditions easing.Saturday 4 JuneIsolated showers over the southern half, mostly about the southwest slopes of the ranges with the chance of thunderstorms over the far southern ranges. Isolated snow showers developing about the Alpine peaks. Cloud increasing in the north. Early fog areas and isolated frost patches, mostly in the north. West to northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change in the south and west.Sunday 5 JunePossible isolated showers through central inland and eastern parts, contracting east. Possible snow showers about the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds freshening about the southern and central ranges.Monday 6 JuneIsolated showers over the southern half, more likely over the southwestern slopes and falling as snow on the Alps. Frost areas on the ranges and slopes.
